The philanthropist George Peabody once said that "our task is not to bring order out of chaos, but to get work done in the midst of chaos." God's people are living through the agony of America's decline, which at this point appears beyond hope of restitution. The continuously worsening conditions are wearying to God's saints, who are being continuously distracted by carnal, Satanic, and worldly pulls. God's ministers have a solemn responsibility to warn the flock of impending danger or suffer the mortal consequences of gross dereliction. Life from now on will become more erratic and uncertain; sadly, the die is cast against the recovery of not only America, but all governments on the earth submitting to the Satanic Beast Power. God's people must keep loose ends, superfluous concerns, and distractions at a minimum. God's people live in a world which distracts people in the blink of an eye, triggering lusts, anger, hatred, bitter words, and negativism. The spirit of the times puts mankind in a rotten, depressed spirit through the mendacious media and the hopelessly corrupt tyrannical governments currently enslaving Jacob's offspring. We must sharpen our focus, zeroing in on fulfilling the purpose of their calling. Sin has been translated from the Greek word hamartia - meaning, "to miss the mark." If an archer is distracted by a feather or a puff of air into the ear, the shot will go wild. The Apollo 13 spacecraft was saved from disaster (moving off course) by having a fixed target (namely planet earth) toward which the astronauts deftly corrected their course. Distractions or encumbrances of any kind produce a fatal movement toward randomness and confusion, seriously endangering one's calling. Hebrews 12:1 commands God's people to cast aside every distraction.
