telecast: Idolatry

Genesis 11:1-9, Ezekiel 14:1-23
Herbert W. Armstrong (1892-1986)
Given 09-Aug-79; Tape #RAD8095; 28 minutes

Description: (hide)

Herbert W. Armstrong warns that technology has given mankind the capability of destroying itself. God has endowed man alone with mind power - the ability to plan, decide and create, but without the character of God, mankind has used this creative ability for fiendish and destructive purposes. Ultimately God will have to intervene to save mankind from its cleverness. We are warned to forsake idolatry - anything that occupies our thoughts and imaginations instead of God. We need to trust in God rather than in deceitful man-devised forms of security. The booklet The Wonderful World Tomorrow- What it will be Like? was offered on this program.
