Description: (hide)

Rod Keesee, observing that people have the tendency to judge or compare themselves among others, or have the tendency to assess people's worth, cautions that we all have the tendency to be the greatest or the least. Each of us has the potential to be both the greatest at something and the least at something. Even Jesus admonitions to become as a child (having innocence, zeal, honesty, or purity) certainly must be balanced with the admonition to be mature in the faith (intellect, experienced, having the capacity to process solid food). God is no respecter of persons. God wants true humility. Even though God has called us as the weak in the world, we cannot foolishly take pride in our baseness. God calls every one of us for a special need in the body. The lowliest bone in the body- the anvil and stirrup of the inner ear- if removed would totally disorient the body or throw it into silence. God's Spirit gives us not self worth- but God- worth.
