description: (hide) When God answers our prayers contrary to our desires, we must remember that we should desire God's will rather than our own will be done. When we sin, we become out of alignment with God's will. When David realized that his adulterous and murderous sin placed him out of alignment with God, he committed himself to fasting and praying, yielding to God's will when it was revealed. Hezekiah, when he learned he was about to die, put his priorities in order, submitting to God's sovereignty. After Jonah preached to Nineveh, the king and populace repented, humbling themselves before God. Jesus Christ continually and humbly aligned His will with His Father's will.
