description: (hide) God's glorified children will have a significant responsibility during the Second Resurrection. Like Christ's originally called disciples, we have also been commissioned to become fishers of men. In the incident following the great catch of fish, Jesus asked Peter whether he had Agape love for Him, but Peter could only answer that he had Phileo affection for Him. As Peter had denied Christ three times, Christ questioned him three times, each time calling using his surname of Jonah, a prophet who is never shown fully surrendering to God. Peter realized he did not have Agape love unless Christ gave it to him, and that Agape love is dependent upon the will of God. With Agape love, Peter, as well as the rest of us, will be able to provide spiritual food to the flock, guiding and protecting them from danger. We need to continually yield ourselves to the prompts of the Great Shepherd, living our lives on God's terms.
