feast: The Judgments

Last Great Day
John W. Ritenbaugh
Given 27-Sep-94; Tape #FT94-12

Description: John Ritenbaugh, reflecting that the only way to salvation is through Christ, observes that many people (multiple billions undoubtedly) have lived and died without even hearing the name of Jesus Christ or whose mental capacity prevented them from comprehending the Gospel. Understanding that the way to salvation involves repentance and a total surrender to Christ, with a total change of lifestyle, conforming to God's shaping power, we realize that most of the world has never had this kind of opportunity. If we measure the results superficially (with the standards of the world's Christianity), Satan appears to be winning. A foundational doctrine clearing up this conundrum is eternal judgment (Hebrews 6:2), defined as the process of forming an opinion or evaluation by discerning or comparing- a process taking considerable time. Revelation 20:4,11-12 substantiates that God has a timetable, showing distinct periods of judgment and resurrection. (87 minutes)
