description: (hide) We are in a major crisis in world history. We find ourselves at the beginning of a horrible economic calamity, the time forecast as Jacob's trouble. We are experiencing the worst economic upheaval since the Great Depression, with the unemployment rate at 20%. In addition, terrorists feel emboldened to use weapons of mass destruction. When the Worldwide Church of God imploded, the doctrines all came under attack, including second and third tithe. The detractors insist that government programs replace whatever the tithe system produced. Our forebears Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob understood God's laws, including the tithing system. We are obligated to follow in their footsteps. God Almighty owns everything; we live here at His privilege. We give thanks when we return a portion of what he has lavishly given us. We are in God's gates right now; we are to recognize our indebtedness to Him, prompting our personal praise, thanksgiving, and freewill offerings. We need to love who He is, what He is, and How He lives so we can live as He lives.
