God is Omnipresent

description: (hide) Many of the forefathers of the United States, such as Thomas Jefferson and Benjamin Franklin, were Deists rather than Christians. Deists espouse a belief that a Supreme Deity created the world, but then left it running without intervening. They also take a dim view of the scriptures, ruling out the validity of the virgin birth, the parting of the Red Sea, and the resurrection. Deists reject the omnipresence, omnipotence, and omniscience of God. As a result, they have rejected the idea that God would intervene intimately in our lives as David had believed, as demonstrated by Psalm 51 and Psalm 139. We cannot hide ourselves from the all-seeing eyes of the Lord. God is sovereign; His spirit extends His influence everywhere, dwelling in the saints, His temple.
