Evil is that which has the intention of doing harm or injury. The ancient Israelites saw no harm in temple prostitutes and child sacrifice, while modern Israelites see no harm in abortion. Halloween is a glorification of evil and witchcraft. Wisdom and understanding are not abstract concepts, but equate to having fear and awe of the Lord, enabling us to make wise decisions leading to eternity. When we are vehemently opposed to everything that may bring harm or injury, we are in sync with God and His law, guarding our hearts against any trace of sin. All of the sorrow in this world is traced back to sin. We dare not be unequally yoked with sin or uncleanness. We who believe in the name of Christ must separate ourselves from the world, hating the evil we find within us, striving to conform to His image.
