Description: Brian Wulf examines the effects of a perpetual curse placed upon Adam and all of his descendents as a direct result of attempting to choose right and wrong apart from God's revelation. Some of the lasting effects of these thorn or thistle bearing plants include: (1) their dramatic prolific nature,(2) their tendency to develop hardy and serpentine root systems nearly impossible to eradicate, (3) their tendency to take over and dominate virtually any area,(4) their having an attraction making them desirable to the eye or palate, (5) their having venom covered sharp spines inflicting pain and suffering, and (6) their tendency to choke out the good vegetation. As a type or symbol of sin, thorns and thistles can abort life, replacing a crown of life with a crown of death, a reward experienced by our savior. (14 minutes)
