Herbert W. Armstrong contends that happiness, fulfillment or contentment is a result of intense physical and mental effort and accomplishment rather than from ease and idleness--as many have assumed. Excessive idleness is also a major contributory cause for much disease. Sickness and disease are unnatural conditions, brought about by the transgression of immutable physical and spiritual laws. By repenting of breaking these laws and by asking for Jesus Christ's sacrifice (a perfect healthy sinless body beaten to a pulp for mankind's transgressions) to be applied to us, determining to yield to His rule, we can be healed of our infirmities.
